District Administration

Mr. Kevin Carroll, Superintendent
Mr. Carroll received his baccalaureate and master’s degree from Rider University. He has taught grades kindergarten through fourth, including multi-age classes of first and second graders as well as third and fourth graders. Mr. Carroll has administrative experience as an elementary supervisor, a vice principal, and a principal. This year marks Mr. Carroll’s twenty-fourth year in education. He has been the Green Brook Superintendent of Schools since the Fall of 2014.

Mr. Carroll married his high school sweetheart, Gale, and they just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this year. Their son, Colin, is at Rider University studying in the honors premed program. Liam, their second son, is a senior at Hunterdon Central Regional High School with concentrations in art, music, and theater.

Mr. Stephen Fried, Business Administrator and Board Secretary
Mr. Derek Ressa, Director of Student Services
Mr. Ressa has been in the field of special education for 16 years in various capacities.  He has been a Director of Student Services for the past 5 years and a school psychologist for 10 years. Mr. Ressa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Eastern University, a Masters degree in Educational Psychology from Montclair State University, and a Masters degree in Educational Administration from Rutgers University.

Mr. Ressa is a member of the Somerset County Association of Directors of Special Services, the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, and the New Jersey Association of Pupil Services Administrators. Mr. Ressa enjoys reading, coaching, and spending quality time with his family  He resides in Clinton Township, NJ.

Mrs. Beth Stanton, Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Beth Stanton began her career in Green Brook Township Public Schools in 2007 after graduating from the The College of New Jersey with an undergraduate degree in history, secondary education with a minor in US studies.  Throughout the years, she taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies as well as a civics-based 8th grade honors course.  After completing her Masters in Education at Rutgers University she became the district’s Supervisor of Instruction.  Now, entering her tenth year in Green Brook, Mrs. Stanton is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.  She is responsible for the district’s professional development, curriculum, and supervision of teachers. Mrs. Stanton lives in Green Brook with her husband, Craig, and two young children, Clara and Elliot.
Mr. Jason Weber, Director of Operations
Mr. Weber has worked in education since 2009, after spending nearly a decade as Director of Editorial Operations for Highlights for Children and Boyds Mills Press and as a founding partner of Namelos publishing house. He has presented at the national/global conferences of the International Reading Association, National Council of Teachers of English, and American Librarian Association, and is a member of the United States Board on Books for Young People.

Mr. Weber holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management. He lives with his wife Jacqueline and children William and Juliette.

School Administration

Mr. Paul Fornale, Principal, Irene E. Feldkirchner Elementary
Mr. Fornale is a native of New Jersey. He received his undergraduate degree in English from Ursinus College before beginning his career as an English teacher in York, PA. He earned an MA in English from Shippensburg University and joined Green Brook Schools in 2003. He taught English Language Arts and received an M.Ed. in school administration from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Education in 2009. He then helped launch the Green Brook Education and Athletic Foundation, later serving as director of its Before and After Care Program and the Green Brook Day Camp. He lives in Franklin Park.
Dr. James Bigsby, Principal, Green Brook Middle School
Dr. Bigsby is beginning his 23rd year as an educator. He taught fourth and sixth grades in Virginia and New Jersey. He has 13 years experience as an assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree and Doctorate from Rutgers University. His doctoral research were in the areas of learning theory, motivational theory, teacher learning, and assessments. He lives with his wife, Melanie and his two children, Mark and Grace.
