Schedules will be published in the Genesis Parent Portal on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Before those go live, ParentSquare notifications will be sent with information about accessing the portal, meal services, transportation, and more.

Annual Board Election

Board members

May 20, 2025 —The Green Brook Township School District has information available for citizens interested in running for the board of education.

The Green Brook Township Board of Education will have four (4) vacancies in the November 4, 2025, Annual School Election. Three (3) seats are for a full term on the school board, which runs for three years. Additionally, there will be one (1) two-year vacancy.

A candidate must file a nominating petition with the county clerk for their name to appear on the ballot during the November Annual School Election. The deadline to submit the nominating petition is 4:00 p.m. July 28, 2025.  The election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Prospective school board candidates can download candidate information from the  Board New Jersey School Boards Association web site. The School Board Candidate Kit includes information about nominating petitions, legal qualifications for school board candidacy, and the role of the school board member.  Information about the New Jersey School Ethics Act and important dates in the school election process are also included.

Candidates interested in running for the Board should consider these prerequisites for election. Each member of any board of education shall, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1:

  • Be a United States citizen;
  • Be a resident of the district for at least one year at the time of election or appointment;
  • Be able to read and write;
  • Be a registered voter in the district where the person is submitting the nomination petition (or being appointed);
  • Not be disqualified as a voter pursuant to J.S.A. 19:4-1;
  • Not have been convicted of any of the crimes or offenses enumerated in J.S.A. 18A;12-1 or conspiracy to commit or attempt to commit any of said crimes;
  • Not be the mayor or a member of the governing body of the municipality; or
  • Not have a direct or indirect contract with or claim against the board.
