PEP RALLY!!!!

We had our FIRST Pep Rally this past Friday.  I want to thank our Peer Leaders for all their work in planning our FIRST Spirit Event.  In planning for this year, our Peer Leaders wanted to focus on SCHOOL SPIRIT and PRIDE in GBMS.  Several MAJOR Pep Rallies and Spirit Days are planned for the rest of the year.

With an adjusted building schedule, our Pep Rally began at 1:15 in the gym with a trivia contest between the grades.  To celebrate the end of the FALL season, GBMS faculty played soccer against students as the student body cheered.  Our Peer Leaders collected donations for Hurricane Relief.  Grades competed against each other wearing their Grade Level Colors and through the Penny Wars for Hurricane Relief.  But best of all – Mr. Ellis and Mr. Esposito received PIES in the Face!

Parent Teacher Conferences

PURPOSE of Conferences – A Parent-Teacher conference is an opportunity for parents and the teacher to discuss how best to support the student who are struggling to perform in class.  Because issues or concerns do not appear on a set schedule, a conference can be arranged anytime during the school year and not just during the scheduled date.

NOTE for 8th grade parents: 8th grade teachers will not have any information about high school placement.

To assist parents in determining whether a conference is needed, parents should log into OnCourse to monitor their child’s progress.  In addition, since conferences are 10 minutes long, filling out a PRE-CONFERENCE form will assist in determining if a conference is needed at this time. It will also assist both the parent and teacher in preparing and organizing the conference.

PRE-CONFERENCE form – Complete if you are requesting a conference.  Please complete by this Friday, 11/3.
