District Administration

Dr. James Bigsby, Superintendent
Dr. Bigsby has over 30 years of experience as an educator. He taught fourth and sixth grades in Virginia and New Jersey. He has over 20 years experience as an assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Virginia and a Master’s degree and Doctorate from Rutgers University. His doctoral research was in the areas of learning theory, motivational theory, teacher learning, and assessments. He lives with his wife, Melanie and his two children, Mark and Grace.
Mr. Jason Weber, School Business Administrator
Mr. Weber has worked in education since 2009, after spending nearly a decade as Director of Editorial Operations for Highlights for Children and Boyds Mills Press and as a founding partner of Namelos publishing house. He has presented at the national/global conferences of the International Reading Association, National Council of Teachers of English, and American Librarian Association, and is a member of the United States Board on Books for Young People.

Mr. Weber holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management. He lives with his wife Jacqueline and children William and Juliette.

Ms. Lisa Ferreira, Director of Student Services
Ms. Ferreira has been an educator for many years in different roles.  She has experience in teaching elementary school, served as a school psychologist and as a special services supervisor prior to her current role as Director. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University with dual majors in psychology and education. She obtained her first Master’s degree in Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College. She obtained her second Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Scranton. Ms. Ferreira’s doctoral research is focused on early childhood.  Her approach to education is rooted in the whole child and she believes in providing children with the supports they need to grow academically, socially and emotionally through best practices. Her educational philosophy and research interests are a direct result of raising two wonderful daughters, Sara and Leah.
Mr. Matthew Santos, Supervisor of Learning and Teaching
Mr. Santos has been an educator since 2007. He started his career as an elementary teacher in Summit Public School where he taught first, second, and third grade. After a decade of classroom experience, Mr. Santos was promoted to serve as a District Literacy Coach. In this role he supported, trained, and mentored novice and veteran teachers. Mr. Santos facilitated district professional development, led instructional initiatives, and developed a multi-year new staff training program.

Mr. Santos earned his Bachelor’s Degree from The College of New Jersey where he studied Elementary Education and Psychology with a concentration in counseling. He obtained his Master’s Degree from Montclair State University where he studied Educational Leadership.

Mr. Santos is passionate about evidence-based literacy instruction, early intervention, and bridging the research-to-practice gap within education. Outside of Green Brook, he is an NJASCD North Board Member.

He lives in Warren Township with his wife, Truc-Lan, and their son, Andrew.

Mrs. Crista Fenton, Principal, Irene E. Feldkirchner Elementary
Mrs. Fenton has had a career in Education for the past 19 years.  She has served as a first and fourth grade teacher, as well as an Intervention Specialist, an Accelerated Math Teacher, an Elementary Teaching Specialist, and an Assistant Principal.  She received her Bachelor’s degree from Rowan University with a minor in Psychology. Mrs. Fenton received her Masters degree in Educational Administration through the University of Scranton. Mrs. Fenton is very passionate about educating children, and believes in teaching the whole child, which is a result of her extensive training and implementation, and providing Professional Development on the Responsive Classroom Approach to teaching. She is a firm believer that every child can learn, should be challenged, and should feel safe in doing so.  Mrs. Fenton’s perspective to education is that there should be a strong connection between both the academic and social emotional approach to learning.  Mrs. Fenton lives in Hillsborough Township with her husband Stephen- (also an educator) and her two beautiful children- Ashley and Abigail and their Lab Sprocket. 
Mrs. Alicia Subervi, Principal, Green Brook Middle School
Mrs. Subervi has been an educator for 17 years. She began her career in California teaching fourth and fifth grade. In New Jersey, she has taught kindergarten through eighth grade. She was an enrichment and gifted and talented teacher for part of her career and then transitioned to administration in 2017. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, a Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction from California State University and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Kean University. She enjoys reading, attending sporting events and traveling with her family. She lives with her husband, Adam, her three active boys, and their puppy Hunter.
